JAKARTA - Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said that there were several strategic tasks given to his ministry to achieve industrial development targets in 2026.
Agus said that the target for industrial development is one of the efforts to achieve national economic growth by 8 percent in 2029.
"In order to realize the national economic growth target of 8 percent in 2029 as stated in Astacita and the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), we at the Ministry of Industry have received a strategic assignment as outlined in the target of industrial development in 2026," Agus said at a Working Meeting with Commission VII at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, September 3.
Agus explained that these tasks included the growth of industrial GDP by 6.52 percent.
Then, the ratio of manufacturing contribution to national GDP was 18.66 percent.
Next, the target contribution of exports of non-oil and gas processing industry products to total national exports is 74.85 percent.

Furthermore, Agus said, the investment value of the manufacturing sector in 2026 is targeted at IDR 852.90 trillion and equitable development with a target of the additional value of the processing industry outside Java at 33.25 percent.
"This shows our shared commitment to strengthening the industrial base not only on the island of Java, but in various regions in Indonesia," explained Agus.
In addition, he continued, the Ministry of Industry was also asked to be able to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 6.79 million tons of equivalence carbon dioxide next year.
"This target emphasized that industrial growth still pays attention to environmental aspects and supports the green development agenda," said Agus.
"Of course, in achieving the target of industrial development, adequate budget support is needed by considering various kinds of needs or priority programs," he concluded.
