Minister of Public Works Admits He Had Discussions with the Cabinet Secretary Until the Early Hours Regarding Public Facilities Improvements Following the Demonstration

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo admitted that he and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya discussed until the early hours of the morning to determine priorities for the rehabilitation of damaged public facilities.

These public facilities were damaged during the massive demonstrations that occurred several days ago.

According to Dody, the discussion lasted until 2 a.m. at Cabinet Secretary Teddy's office.

"We discussed until 2 a.m. with the Cabinet Secretary until the morning to discuss which points should be prioritized," Dody said at the Pejompongan Toll Gate (GT) in Jakarta, Tuesday, September 2.

He said that one of the points discussed with Teddy for immediate repair was the toll gate. He said this facility is a priority because it is used almost daily by the public.

In addition to the toll gate, the affected TransJakarta bus stops and MRT stations will also be a primary focus. Dody emphasized that these locations were chosen because they are public facilities regularly used by residents.

"We discussed it yesterday with the Cabinet Secretary until morning. We chose the toll gate as the most important point, because everyone passes by it almost every day. And the TransJakarta bus stops and MRT stations were also affected," he emphasized.

Dody explained that after the Plenary Cabinet Session, President Prabowo Subianto, through the Cabinet Secretary, instructed the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing to immediately assist in the rehabilitation of damaged state assets.

The Presidential Instruction emphasized special handling in the Jakarta area. Dody explained that Jakarta remains the center of attention due to its status as the nation's capital.

"Because Jakarta is still the nation's capital, and all eyes are on Jakarta," he explained.

Dody emphasized that not only Jakarta, but all state and public facilities used by the public every day will remain a priority for repair. In Jakarta, damaged facilities specifically require immediate attention.

"All state and public facilities used by the public every day must be prioritized, especially in the Jakarta area," he concluded.
