JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Dadan Hindayana said, until mid-August 2025 as many as 6,137 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) had been operating throughout Indonesia. This figure exceeds the initial target of 2025 which is only 5,000 SPPG.
He conveyed this when attending the inauguration of the Pilot Project of the Free Nutrition Eating Task Force (Satgas MBG) of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) in Semarang, Central Java, Friday, August 22.
"The President at that time in his state speech said 5,800, and today 6,137 SPPG are operational. He has served more than 20 million beneficiaries. So, in a short time, we have managed to achieve that," Dadan said in an official statement.
However, Dadan assessed that this achievement only covers about 25 percent of the total beneficiaries of the MBG program, or about 5 percent of the total population of Indonesia. According to him, although the percentage of the population is still relatively small, the achievement of 20 million beneficiaries actually includes 4 countries in Europe.
"For Indonesia, only 25 percent of the beneficiaries or only 5 percent of the total population of Indonesia. But if you are in Europe, 20 million have fed four countries, in SCandivania, Finland, there is Norway, there is Denmark, and parts of Sweden," he said.
In addition, Dadan said the success of this program could not be separated from the support of the public-private partnership model. Thousands of SPPGs that have been established are all built with partnership funds without using the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).
"It should be noted, 6,137 SPPGs and 19,000 SPPG candidates who are being verified 100 percent are purely partnerships. It is not yet clear from the APBN. BGN has only absorbed Rp 10.3 trillion for nutrition intervention, but is able to trigger public funds of up to Rp 50 trillion. Of that amount, Rp 500 billion was donated by Kadin, equivalent to 10 percent of the total rotating community funds," he said.
In the future, BGN is targeting the construction of an additional 6,000 SPPG by October 2025. That way, in November the MBG program is expected to reach 82.9 million beneficiaries, ranging from pregnant women, toddlers, PAUD to high school students, including students and religious school teachers.
Dadan hopes that Kadin can allocate most of his support to build SPPG in the 3T region (lagging behind, leading, outermost).
"Earlier I heard that Kadin will build a thousand SPPGs. We hope that it will be more allocated to 3T areas. Our target is that by the end of October all SPPG buildings will be completed, so that by November we can serve 82.9 million beneficiaries," he said.
