JAKARTA - PT Avia Avian Tbk (AVIA) strengthens its commitment to sustainability through strategic cooperation with SUN Energy. This collaboration is part of the ESG Avian Brands roadmap, focusing on using renewable energy.
After successfully implementing the Rooftop PLTS in a number of facilities, Avian Brands is now expanding the use of solar energy in two main factories, namely Serang (Banten) and Sidoarjo (East Java).
This installation is estimated to produce 873,000 kWh of green energy per year, reducing carbon emissions to 680 tons of CO2, equivalent to planting more than 11,200 trees.
As for the details, the factory in Sidoarjo accounts for around 730,726 kWh and reduces 568 tons of CO2 or 9,437 embedded trees, while facilities in Serang produce 142,556 kWh and cut 110 tons of CO2 or the equivalent of 1,841 embedded trees.
QA & Sustainability Manager of Avian Brands Eko Hajar Prakoeswo said this step not only increases the company's green energy capacity, but also strengthens the foundation towards low-emission and efficient operations.
"This impact is clear evidence that the ESG initiative can provide significant environmental benefits while at the same time supporting industrial competitiveness," he said in his statement, Thursday, August 21.
He added that this step is part of Avian Brands' Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) roadmap, which is designed to support the achievement of short, medium-term, and long-term sustainability goals.
According to him, the ESG strategy includes reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the use of renewable energy, managing biodiversity, and creating positive and sustainable social impacts.
The implementation of the Roof PLTS is in line with Avian Brands' Sustainability Commitment, namely Roadmap ESG, which states that the target of reducing coverage emissions from 1 & 2 is 50 percent by 2030. We view renewable energy as a long-term investment that not only helps reduce emissions, but also increases operational efficiency", he said.
Meanwhile, SUN Energy CEO Emmanuel Jefferson Kuesar said that his party sees this collaboration as a model of a clean energy partnership that can be replicated in various industrial sectors, as well as opening up opportunities for the application of other sustainability solutions in the future.
He added that the energy transition is not only about reducing emissions, but building an industry system that is adaptive, responsible, and resilient to future challenges.
