JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy Tbk (PGEO) announced the appointment of Gigih Udi Atmo as President Commissioner, replacing Sarman Simanjorang. The appointment of Gigih was carried out through the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS).
For information, Gigih is the Director of Geothermal at the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).
Gigih Udi Atmo is a professional in renewable energy and electricity. He won the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in the field of Infrastructure Engineering and Master of Engineering Project Management from the University of Melbourne, after previously completing his Professor of Electric Engineering at Gadjah Mada University.
Currently, he has also held positions as Director of Energy Conservation (2022-2024) and Inspector of Electricity for Madya Experts (2020-2022).
Before being trusted as President Commissioner, Gigih Udi Atmo served as Commissioner of PGE since July 2024.
PGE management believes that Gigih's appointment can be a positive stimulus for the Company in supporting the government's agenda to accelerate the energy transition, especially through optimizing national geothermal development.
