JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) has the opportunity to strengthen to 8,000 today, Thursday, August. Phintraco Sekuritas in his research said that the JCI today will move in the resistance range of 8,000, pivot 7,970, and support 7,900.
Phintraco Sekuritas explained that the JCI closed higher at the level of 7,943.83 (1.03 percent) on Wednesday (20/8/2025) trading. Positive sentiment came from Bank Indonesia's RDG decision to reduce the BI Rate by 25 bps to 5 percent, which was beyond consensus expectations.
Phintraco Sekuritas said that the property sector shares posted the largest strengthening, driven by expectations of increased sales in line with the decline in interest rates.
"Tren penurunan suku bunga diharapkan juga akan mendorong kenaikan daya beli masyarakat sehingga mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi," tulis Phintraco Sekuritas.
According to Phintraco Sekuritas, cutting the benchmark interest rate is the fourth drop this year, and is the lowest level since October 2022. The BI Rate's decision to decline is in line with the inflation projection which is still within the BI target range.
"In addition, the movement of rupiah which tends to be stable, continues to slow down credit growth, and as an effort to encourage economic growth," explained Phintraco Sekuritas.
Phintraco Sekuritas said credit growth in July 2025 was recorded at 7.03 percent YoY, slowing down from 7.77 percent YoY in June 2025, and was the lowest level since March 2022. This slowdown reflects the weakening purchasing power, lower middle class and increasing bank caution in disbursing credit.
Technically, Phintraco Sekuritas added, although the Stochastic RSI indicator still indicates continued corrections in the medium term, the MACD histogram is still positive and it is alleged that accumulation has occurred again.
"Thus, the JCI today has the potential to continue strengthening testing the level of 7,970-8,000," said Phintraco Sekuritas.
The stocks recommended by Phintraco Sekuritas today are PGAS, BRPT, BKSL, ANTM and MBMA.
