Aiming For The Development Of 100 Permanent Buildings, The People's School Budget Is Set At IDR 24.9 Trillion In The 2026 RAPBN

The budget for the People's School (SR) program is set at IDR 24.9 trillion in the Draft State Revenue and Expenditure Plan (RAPBN) for Fiscal Year (TA) 2026.

Referring to Book II of the Financial Note and the RAPBN for Fiscal Year 2026, the allocation will be used for the implementation and construction of the permanent SR building.

"In 2026, the government will continue to organize the People's School by allocating Rp24.9 trillion. The allocation will be used for the implementation and construction of the permanent SR building," the regulation reads, quoted on Tuesday, August 19.

As for 2025, the government will hold People's Schools in 200 locations with details of phase I as many as 100 locations and stage II covering 100 locations.

The construction of the Phase I People's School has been completed at a cost of IDR 1.76 trillion for the operational expenditure of the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) and IDR 1.19 trillion for the physical expenditure of the Ministry of Public Works (PU).

"For phase I, the infrastructure and dormitories of the People's School will use the Social Rehabilitation Center, the Education and Training Center of the Ministry of Social Affairs and buildings belonging to the local government," explained the regulation.

Then, for the second phase of construction, it is budgeted at IDR 24.9 trillion.

In detail, as much as Rp20 trillion was allocated to the Ministry of Public Works for the construction of 200 SR. Meanwhile, the remaining Rp4.9 trillion for the operation of 200 SR was transferred to the Ministry of Social Affairs.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto said the government had succeeded in building and opening 100 SR.

This is the government's effort to break the chain of absolute poverty in Indonesia.

"One of our efforts to break the chain of absolute poverty is to form a People's School (SR). We have succeeded in building and opening 100 SR," Prabowo said in a State Speech at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

Dia berharap, akan ada 200 Sekolah Rakyat pada 2026 dan menjadi 300 unit SR di tahun berikutnya.

"Kami harapkan tahun depan akan menjadi 200, tahun selanjutnya akan menjadi 300 dan seterusnya," kata dia.

He hopes that there will be 200 People's Schools by 2026 and become 300 units of SR in the following year.

"We hope next year it will be 200, the following year it will be 300 and so on," he said.
