Pertamina Gathers 86,000 Liters Of Crude Oil For Bioavtur Raw Materials

JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga reported that until July 2025 it had managed to collect 86,000 liters of crude oil.

The broken oil, which will be used as the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) feedstock, has been collected since December 2024.

Pertamina Patra Niaga President Director, Mars Ega Legowo Putra said, through an integrated collection of crude oil with the MyPertamina application and placements in Pertamina strategic locations, Pertamina Patra Niaga encourages people to become part of the clean energy supply chain as well as open up new economic opportunities at the local level.

"Through the retail route, we collect household staggered oil which has now been carried out at 10 points, such as at gas stations," he said, quoted on Tuesday, August 19.

He added that Pertamina plans to expand the collection location by adding 25 more points so that it is easier for the public to hand over the oil in their denominations.

"Meanwhile, the partnership route will take advantage of partnership collaboration with associations. This potential can develop into a national movement and build economic opportunities for the community," he said.

He explained, in the SAF ecosystem in Pertamina, Pertamina Patra Niaga plays a role in providing feedstock by collecting crude oil through two routes, namely retail networks and collective or industrial partnerships.

Currently, the points for collecting oil are at the COCO gas station MT Haryono, the COCO Kalimalang gas station, Pelni Hospital, Pertamina Central Hospital, Pertamina Patra Niaga Office, COCO BSD City gas station, COCO Dago Bandung gas station, COCO Semarang gas station, Pertaminabak Mart Plaju, and Sport Center Plaju.

Lebih lanjut, Mars Ega menambahkan, nantinya lembaga penyalur yang dimiliki Pertamina Patra Niaga serta jaringan milik berbagai entitas di dalam Pertamina Group seperti IHC dan Patra Jasa bahkan program-program pemberdayaan masyarakat akan menjadi titik-titik pengumpulan minyak jelantah, membangun ekosistem berkelanjutan yang menghubungkan rumah tangga dan pelaku usaha mikro dan kecil untuk berpartisipasi menjadi bagian dalam ekosistem penyediaan SAF.

“Pendekatan ini dapat menjadi model penerapan ekonomi sirkular di sektor energi. Minyak jelantah yang biasanya dibuang bisa diubah menjadi bahan bakar penerbangan rendah emisi. Siklus ini menguntungkan masyarakat, mengurangi limbah, dan mendukung transisi energi,” pungkas Mars Ega.

Furthermore, Mars Ega added, later the distribution agency owned by Pertamina Patra Niaga as well as networks belonging to various entities within the Pertamina Group such as the IHC and Patra Jasa, even community empowerment programs, will become points for collecting broken oil, building a sustainable ecosystem that connects households and micro and small business actors to participate as part of the ecosystem providing SAF.

This approach can be a model for implementing a circular economy in the energy sector. Disposable oils that are usually disposed of can be converted into low-emission flight fuels. This cycle benefits the community, reduces waste, and supports the energy transition," concluded Mars Ega.
