Calls Danantara's Presence, Prabowo Claims Unemployment Drops To The Lowest Level

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto claims the unemployment rate has been reduced to its lowest level since 1998. However, he did not mention the exact figure.

"Alhamdulillah, today the national unemployment rate has succeeded in dropping to its lowest level since the 1998 crisis," he said at the MPR RI Annual Session and the 2025 DPR-DPD RI Joint Session, at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Friday, August 15.

However, Prabowo said the achievement did not just come. He said, one of the keys to encouraging job creation is the acceleration of investment, especially in the downstream sector.

"To accelerate investment in downstream, natural resources and various strategic fields, to create quality employment opportunities, we together with the DPR have formed what we call the Indonesian Danantara Investment Management Agency," he said.

Prabowo said Danantara would become an asset investment management institution with a value of 1 trillion US dollars. This institution is also believed to create new jobs.

"The antara will create millions of quality jobs, especially in the downstream sector," he said.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto officially launched the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) today. Danantara is authorized to manage investment holding dividends, operational holdings, and BUMN dividends.

"By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, this afternoon, Monday, February 24, 2025, I am the President of the Republic of Indonesia launching the Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency, Danantara Indonesia," Prabowo said at the launch of Danantara, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, February 24.

The inauguration of the Indonesian Danantara was marked when President Prabowo signed Law Number 1 of 2025 concerning the third amendment to Law Number 19 of 2003 concerning State-Owned Enterprises.

In addition, Prabowo also signed Government Regulation (PP) Number 10 of 2025 concerning the organization and governance of the Nanagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency.

"Furthermore, I also signed Presidential Decree Number 30 of 2025 concerning the appointment of the supervisory board and the implementing body of the Nanagata Nusantara Investment Management Agency," he said.
