Subsidy Fertilizer No Longer Ruwet, Ministry Of Agriculture And DPR Guarantee Smooth Distribution

The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) together with Commission IV of the DPR RI are committed to continuing to oversee the distribution of subsidized fertilizers so that this policy runs smoothly, on target, and is sustainable.

Deputy Chairman of Commission IV of the DPR RI, Panggah Susanto, said that improving the management of fertilizer distribution has made the distribution process simpler and more efficient than before.

This was revealed when he visited the PT Pupuk Kalimantan Timur (Pupuk Kaltim) factory in Bontang, Tuesday, August 12.

"In the past, it was complicated, now God willing, the surfing will run smoothly," he said, launching from the official website of the Ministry of Agriculture.

He explained that the new policy places the Ministry of Agriculture and PT Pupuk Indonesia Holding Company (PIHC) as the two main parties in the distribution of subsidized fertilizers.

Commission IV of the DPR, continued Panggah, will continue to monitor so that fertilizers can support the productivity of the agricultural, plantation, and fisheries sectors.

The Director General of Agricultural Infrastructure and Facilities (PSP) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Andi Nur Alam Syah, added that the management of fertilizer distribution has been carried out in accordance with the mandate of the Presidential Regulation (Perpres) and continues to be perfected.

"We are coordinating with PT PIHC to ensure that fertilizers are distributed on time, on the right number, and on target. Local governments also play an important role in guarding distribution," explained Andi.

According to him, if in a low fertilizer absorption area, allocation can be reallocated to sub-districts, regencies, or other provinces that need it so that no stock is wasted and food security is maintained.
