Prabowo Launches People's School, Children's Literacy Ability In IKN Increases

JAKARTA - The Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) launched a People's School (SR) strategic program.

The program was launched by President Prabowo Subianto so that children from various levels of society, including underprivileged families, get access to quality education.

The program not only builds classrooms, but also creates the foundations of future generations that are ready to compete on the global stage.

IKN Authority spokesman Troy Pantouw stated that the People's School is a tangible manifestation of IKN's commitment to building superior human resources.

The program has been running in eight elementary schools around IKN and focuses on three main pillars, namely literacy, numeracy and mastery of international languages.

The results of the evaluation show a tremendous impact. In the last six months, students' literacy skills have increased by around 30-40 percent, an achievement measured through periodic assessments.

To prepare children to become citizens of the world, the IKN Authority also launched the Hi5 Club, an English culture program held every Friday.

The program provides interactive space for students and the public to practice conversations, enrich vocabulary and increase self-confidence.

"This step is taken to prepare students to be able to play an active role in supporting IKN as a world city for all, where openness to international culture and language is a strategic necessity," said Troy as quoted from the IKN official website, Monday, August 11.

According to Troy, the spirit of the People's School is in line with IKN's great vision to build competitive humans.

IKN not only builds physical infrastructure, but also the future of the capable, inclusive generation and ready to play a role on the global stage.

"Currently we and the Tanoto Foundation are conducting an assessment to develop the next program," he said.

Furthermore, the program ensures that the benefits of IKN development are felt directly by the community.

The IKN Authority also invites various parties, both private and other institutions, to collaborate in building quality education.

Thus, IKN will not only become a modern and open capital, but also a city that is built with a strong educational foundation.
