JAKARTA - A subsidiary of PT Medela Potentia Tbk (MDLA), PT Deca Metric Medica (DMM) has penetrated the export market to Cambodia and Timor Leste.

Director of PT Deca Metric Medica Stephen Febianto Kusumo stated that the leading medical device products sent in the first export were on August 8, 2025, namely the Stardec Dec Fix and Stardec Decamed-T wound care products.

The choice of Cambodia and Timor Leste as export destination countries, he said again, in his statement in Jakarta, Saturday, because both are Indonesian friendly countries, most of whose medical equipment needs continue to increase.

"This is the first step so that national production medical devices are not only accepted in local markets, but also in international markets," he quoted Antara as saying.

He added that this export is the company's strategy to expand the domestic medical device product market to foreign countries, as well as encourage Indonesia's role as a global player in the medical device sector.

Stardec Dec Fix and Stardec Decamed-T products will answer the needs of wound care in health facilities, both hospitals and clinics, and can be accessed by the general public through pharmacies. These products will be distributed to health facilities and pharmacies in two export destination countries.

According to him, PT DMM has met international standards through ISO certification 13485:2016, thus becoming an important basis for competing in the global market, especially in the ASEAN region.

Director of PT Medela Potentia Tbk Edbert Oroto added that this export is not just a shipment of products abroad, but also as an effort to expand access to quality health products made by the nation.

According to him, the first export cannot be separated from the great opportunities that Indonesia has in the global medical device sector, in 2024 the export value of national medical devices will reach around US$273 million.

"This reflects the high market potential and the increasing global trust in the quality of Indonesian manufactured products," he said again.

This export step, he also said, is expected to be a gateway for wider market penetration in Southeast Asia and its surroundings, as well as encourage increased export contributions from the Indonesian medical device sector in the international arena.
