Pertamina Banks Nozzle Speed Issue Affects Fuel Rate

JAKARTA - Pertamina Patra Niaga opened its voice over a viral video that said the speed of the nozzle affected the dose of fuel at Pertamina gas stations.

Pertamina Patra Niaga's VP Corporate Secretary, Heppy Wulansari, said that the speed of the dispenser nozzle often affects the amount of fuel oil (BBM). In fact, that's not the case.

"In response to various information circulating in the community regarding the assumption that the speed of the flow (speed nozzle) at the gas station dispenser affects the dose of fuel oil (BBM), Pertamina Patra Niaga emphasized that the speed nozzle has nothing to do with the accuracy of the fuel dose issued by the gas station dispenser," said Heppy, Thursday, August 7.

He explained that the speed of the nozzle only regulates the flow rate of fuel, not the volume or dose given. The speed one is the slowest speed, while the speed three is the fastest speed.

"Every dispenser at Pertamina gas stations has gone through a calibration process and is repeated regularly, to ensure that the volume of fuel issued is in accordance with the amount displayed," he explained.

Heppy ensured that the fuel dose remained accurate as the measurement process was carried out by a digital counting system separate from the flow speed.

"This means that the slow or fast charging of fuel does not affect the amount of liters of fuel that comes out and remains in accordance with the figures listed on the dispenser," said Heppy.
