Budget Telan Rp305.67 Billion, Kretek Street Progress Girijati In DIY Already 85.33 Percent

JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) reported that the progress of the construction of the New Kretek Road 'Girijati in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) has reached 85.33 percent.

Waskita Karya Corporate Secretary Ermy Puspa Yunita explained that the road also supports the development of the Bentang Alam Gunungkidul National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN) and the South Coast of Yogyakarta.

"The existence of Jalan Kretek Girijati will facilitate access between tourist attractions, because it can be passed from Yogyakarta International Airport, Adisutjipto Airport and Yogyakarta City," said Ermy in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, August 6.

The 5.64 kilometer long road is also an important part of the completion of the Southern Cross Road (JLLS) in DIY.

"Regarding the route with the JLLS network already available, it is certain that it will be able to shorten the travel time and reduce logistics costs for delivery of goods and services," he said.

The work on roads worth IDR 305.67 billion also pays attention to environmental aspects. Among other things, through the program of reforestation of slopes and ecological-based supporting infrastructure.

The foundation structure or boregle is installed to maintain slope stability accompanied by additional soil identification before implementation. It also ensures design suitability with actual conditions.

Commitment to sustainability is also realized by reforestation of slopes using a blanket arrangement made from cocomesh.

"Waskita Karya also involves local communities in the construction of this project. For example, related to construction work and service provision," explained Ermy.
