Minister Of Finance Sri Mulyani Promises To Be Consistent In Budgeting 5 Percent Of The State Budget For The Health Sector

Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati promised to consistently allocate a 5 percent health sector budget in the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN).

"Since 2016, #UangKita has consistently allocated a budget of more than 5 percent, so that people can get quality health services and access," Sri Mulyani said on Instagram @smindrawati, quoted by Antara, in Jakarta, Saturday, August 2.

For the 2025 State Budget, the Government has prepared a health sector budget of IDR 218.5 trillion.

The health budget is used for various programs, such as the Posyandu Primary Service Integration (ILP) which reaches the community to remote areas.

Then, said Sri Mulyani again, the budget is also used to spearhead equal access to basic services such as health checks, immunizations, and nutrition education for residents who are far from permanent health facilities.

His activities include posyandu toddlers, adolescents, fertile age, and the elderly who are routinely carried out every month by the puskesmas.

"This good program will continue and be improved in 2026 because health service facilities are the right of every citizen," said Sri Mulyani.

The government has spent a budget of IDR 78.6 trillion or 36 percent of the state budget for health programs in the first semester of 2025.

Distribution through central government expenditure (BPP) was recorded at IDR 52.1 trillion, while those distributed through transfers to the regions (TKD) amounted to IDR 26.5 trillion.

One of them is used for hospital revitalization of Rp1.9 trillion, which is focused on increasing the class of D/D Pratama Hospitals to Class C Hospitals, with priority in strengthening facilities and infrastructure for heart services, strokes, and urban medicine.

The budget is also distributed for the National Health Insurance (JKN) contribution assistance program of Rp. 23.2 trillion, vaccines and immunizations of Rp. 1.1 trillion, to the Free Health Check (PKG) program of Rp. 140.1 billion.
