Don't Be Reckless To Go Home! Jasa Marga Expels 648 Vehicles Exiting The Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road

JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga Tbk. together with the Police, issued 648 vehicles indicated going home at two check points on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road Km 31 Cikarang Barat to Cikampek and Km 47 West Karawang to Cikampek.

This firm step was taken on the first day of eliminating the 2021 homecoming, namely on Thursday, May 6 in accordance with the mandate from the government to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

General Manager Representative Office 1 of Jasa Marga Transjawa Widiyatmiko Nursejati stated that of the total 648 vehicles that were transferred, 88 percent of them were passenger transportation vehicles.

"If someone does not meet the travel requirements, they will be taken out to the nearest toll gate to be turned back towards Jakarta," he said in a press statement, Friday, May 7.

On the same occasion, the Police element represented by the Head of the PJR Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Kompol Akmal, said that his party continues to study and evaluate supervision at enforced check points, especially on toll roads.

"The number of vehicles on the first day released from the toll road tends to be more than on the second day which began to decline," he said.

Akmal added that his staff paid special attention to trucks that indicated going home, for example by identifying trucks with tarpaulin bases.

“On the first day we found a truck with passengers in the back. If this happens, then we will impose sanctions such as a ticket because it is not in accordance with its function and take the passengers to the nearest terminal, "he said.

For information, Jasa Marga has at least 84,083 vehicles leaving the Jabotabek area through the east, west and south on Thursday, May 6, 2021.

In detail, the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road contributed 14,069 vehicles to the east, and the Cipularang toll road 14,367 vehicles.

Meanwhile, to the west through the Tangerang-Merak toll road, there are 32,932 vehicles.

Then, the number of vehicles leaving Jakarta heading south through the Jagorawi toll road was 22,715 vehicles.

However, the operator of the state-owned expressway revealed that the number of vehicles from these three directions was reduced by about 30 percent compared to a normal day.
