JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) continues to accelerate the implementation of the Free Nutrition Food Program (MBG) throughout Indonesia.
Special Staff to the Head of BGN, Redy Hendra Gunawan said, BGN targets as many as 47,088 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) to operate in the next 10 days
to serve about 15 million beneficiaries.
"In order to accelerate the Free Nutrition Eating program, the National Nutrition Agency in the next 10 days will operate 2,401 SPPG," he said online, Tuesday, July 29.
"And a total of 47,088 SPPGs will operate in the next 10 days. This means that the National Nutrition Agency in the next 10 days will serve around 15 million beneficiaries," he continued.
He explained that this acceleration is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directive so that the program will not only have an impact on improving nutritional status, but also have a direct impact on employment, especially from the most economically vulnerable community groups.
"According to the president's direction, the Free Nutrition Food Program must have an impact on employment, especially the workforce from decile 1 and decile 2," said Redy.
For this reason, continued Redy, BGN has established an inclusive policy in the recruitment process.
Of the total 47 people who will be recruited for each SPPG unit, at least 30 percent must come from families who fall into the decile 1 and decile 2 categories.
"BGN has made a policy that out of a total of 47 people who will be recruited by BGN for each nutritional fulfillment unit, at least 30 percent come from the 1 and 2 decile families. We hope that with this policy, BGN will contribute to increasing employment, especially those from families in decile 1 and decile 2," he explained.
