PTPP Bangun Twin Tower UNDIP: Modern Education Infrastructure For Semarang Future

JAKARTA - In the midst of industrial dynamics and national development challenges, PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) continues to strengthen its commitment to presenting the best work for the country. One of the concrete manifestations is the Diponegoro University (UNDIP) Twin Tower Development strategic project which is currently running in the Pleburan area, Semarang.

This project is not just physical development, it has become a symbol of the transformation of higher education and strengthening economic connectivity in Central Java. Worked through a design & build integrated construction scheme, this project worth IDR 365.68 billion is carried out in two stages: the first stage for 510 calendar days and the second stage 420 calendar days.

As of the 39th week, development progress has reached 12.23%, exceeding the initial target. Twin Tower UNDIP received broad support from academics and the public.

UNDIP Chancellor Prof. Suharnomo stated that this project will become a new landmark of UNDIP as well as a symbol of synergy between science, the environment, and society.

"This is in line with the campus vision to become more inclusive and sustainable," he said, in a written statement, Tuesday, July 29.

The same thing was conveyed by Prof. Yos Johan Utama, Chancellor of UNDIP for the 2015'2019 period, who believes that the presence of Twin Tower will strengthen UNDIP's position as one of the best universities in Indonesia, both in terms of facilities and global competitiveness.

PT PP's Corporate Secretary, Joko Raharjo, explained that this project was designed with the concept of living learning community that integrates academic and social functions in a harmonious manner.

"Tower I will become a modern education center with integrated learning facilities. Meanwhile Tower II is designed as a Green Building standard educational hotel (BGH Level Madya), which supports academic activities such as seminars and conferences, as well as supports the Semarang city tourism sector," Joko explained.

PT PP also carries an environmentally friendly and cost-efficient approach by implementing recycling technology such as adjustable hacking, clay shipping, and tier space reuse. The implementation of lean construction is carried out in order to make project delivery more efficient and minimize waste.

In terms of architecture, Twin Tower UNDIP appears prominent through a futuristic design that combines the 8mm Curtain Wall Sunergy Blue Green, Spandrel Panasap Lite Gray, and a Sky Bridge Interconnection that connects the two towers as powerful visual icons.

The construction of the UNDIP Twin Tower is not only about building buildings, but about building a future. In the midst of various developing issues, PT PP remains upright, consistently contributes positively through quality projects, has a broad impact, and is based on sustainability values.
