Sri Mulyani Ensures That IDR 10.7 Trillion BSU Is Still Given To 17 Million Workers

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani ensured that the Rp10.72 trillion Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) program budget would still be given to 17 million workers or laborers throughout Indonesia.

"The government also provides BSU with a budget of IDR 10.72 trillion. Subsidies or assistance of IDR 600,000 for June and July can be distributed in June 2025 to 17 million workers and laborers," he said at the KSSK III 2025 Periodic Meeting Results Press Conference, at the LPS Office, Jakarta, Monday, July 28.

Sri Mulyani said that BSU recipients are workers or laborers who have a salary of Rp. 3.5 million per month equivalent to the district/city minimum wage, or province.

Furthermore, Sri Mulyani said, BSU is also distributed to teachers or teachers under the auspices of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) and the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).

"The government also provides Rp600,000 to 288,000 teachers from the Ministry of Education and the 277,000 teachers at the Ministry of Religion," he said.

On this occasion, Sri Mulyani did not mention the budget reduction due to the decrease in the number of BSU recipients. This reduction was conveyed by the Ministry of Manpower.

Sri Mulyani's statement is different from the Minister of Manpower Yassierli. He revealed that there was a decrease in the number of BSU recipients in June and July from 17.3 million to 15.95 million people.

"That's just a data problem, we have verified it and so on, (the total is now) 15,950,593 recipients," said Yassierli, at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Tuesday, July 22.
