JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka directly observed the process of distributing Wage Subsidy Assistance (BSU) in 2025 at the Jakarta KCU Post Office Flora, Fatmawati, last Thursday, July 17.

During his visit, the Vice President ensured that the implementation of the program ran smoothly, on target, and provided tangible benefits for workers in the midst of current economic challenges.

The BSU program is the result of a synergy between the Ministry of Manpower and BPJS Employment, especially in providing data on recipients of active membership-based assistance and wages that meet the criteria.

Director of Strategic Planning and Information Technology of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, Zainudin, said that until early July 2025, his party had submitted data on more than 15 million active participants who met the requirements.

"The validation and selection process is carried out strictly so that assistance is really accepted by those who need it the most," he said. He also appreciated the government's trust in BPJS Ketenagakerjaan as the main partner in this program.

Also attending this activity were the Head of the DKI Jakarta BPJS Employment Regional Office, Deny Yusyulian, as well as representatives from all BPJS Ketenagakerjaan branch offices in the DKI Jakarta area.

Meanwhile, Imam Santoso, Head of the Jakarta Gambir BPJS Employment Branch Office, emphasized that the distribution of BSU provides real assistance to workers, especially in informal and labor-intensive sectors.

"The distribution of BSU really helps workers, especially those who are economically affected and have limited income. This is a tangible form of state presence in providing protection," said Imam Santoso.

Imam also appealed to all workers to ensure that they are registered and active in the BPJS Employment program so that they can get various benefits of social protection, including potential government assistance in the future.

"We continue to educate and encourage employers to register their workers, not only so that they are protected in the long term, but also so that they do not escape social assistance programs such as BSU," he added.

BPJS Ketenagakerjaan emphasized the importance of employment social security as a form of comprehensive protection for workers from social risks such as work accidents, death, old age, and job loss.
