JAKARTA - Bank Jakarta has stated its commitment to fully support the implementation of the Market Digitalization Competition.
This commitment was stated during the Launching of the Market Digitalization Competition and the signing of a joint commitment program to increase market digitization in Jakarta.
The signing was carried out by the President Director of Bank Jakarta, Agus H. Widodo together with the President Director of Perumda Pasar Jaya, Agus Himawan and other banking institutions witnessed by the Governor of DKI Jakarta Pramono Anung and DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary Marullah Mattali.
The Market Digitization Competition was initiated by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government (Pemprov) through collaboration between the DKI Jakarta Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Bank Indonesia, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Perumda Pasar Jaya.
This activity aims to accelerate digital transformation, especially in payment systems in markets managed by Perumda Pasar Jaya.
Governor Pramono assessed that through the 2025 Market Digitalization Competition, Pramono carried four large targets.
The targets are improving merchant welfare, efficiency of transactions, optimizing regional taxes, and eradicating market thuggery.
"I proposed this competition. The goal is clear, so that traders are familiar with digital systems such as QRIS and EDC," said Pramono, Tuesday, July 22.
According to him, digitization is not only a matter of speed of transaction, but also a matter of security and order.
"If there is no cash circulating, the room for pickpockets and extortion is also lost," he said.
Pramono called market digitization a strategic step to strengthen the people's economy.
"This is not a modernization style, but a long-term effort to build an economic foundation from below," he said.
Pramono said the Jakarta Provincial Government cooperated with Bank Indonesia (BI), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Perumda Pasar Jaya as the main partners.
In fact, the race assessment was fully submitted to BI and OJK to ensure transparency.
"The provincial government does not interfere with judging. We want this competition to be credible and objective," said Pramono.
In addition, currently, Pramono said 20 markets have participated in this program, and are targeted to reach all 133 markets in Jakarta.
Digital transformation is no longer an option, but a must. The market must be the epicenter of the people's economy that is clean, orderly, and competitive," he said.
