The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) continues to strive to achieve clean carbon through the determination of a roadmap for nine priority industrial sectors which is the focus of accelerating decarbonization.
The nine priority sectors are the cement, fertilizer, metal, pulp and paper industries, textiles, chemicals, automotives, food and beverages as well as the glass and ceramic industry.
"As part of the national effort towards net zero emissions, the Ministry of Industry has set nine priority industrial sectors that are the focus of accelerating decarbonization. This shows the government's seriousness in transforming the industrial sector to be greener or more environmentally friendly and sustainable," said the Head of the Standardization and Industrial Services Policy Agency (BSKJI) of the Ministry of Industry Andi Rizaldi in a written statement, Tuesday, July 22.
Andi assessed that the Ministry of Industry is preparing a decarbonization roadmap for each of these industrial sectors, including technical guidelines, supporting policies, technology needs and funding as well as cross-sectoral collaboration.
He targets that the industrial sector's carbon can be achieved by 2050 or 10 years faster than the national target.
"This means that we have to prepare a roadmap for the national industry to quickly transform towards low-emission and environmentally friendly production in the next 25 years," he said.
He added that the preparation of the roadmap involved various stakeholders, including industry associations, business actors, academics and international institutions, to ensure strategies were formulated realistic, measurable and had a real impact.
Cross-sectoral collaboration, according to Andi, especially with educational institutions such as Binus University is believed to be a driving force for accelerating the transformation of competitive and sustainable industries.
"We believe Binus University also has great potential as a pioneer of innovation and incubator for future green innovators," said Andi.
The AIGIS Goes to Campus activity is part of The 2nd AIGIS 2025 series which will be held from 20-22 August 2025 at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC).
Through the AIGIS Goes to Campus program, the Ministry of Industry is actively establishing partnerships with various universities to build dialogue space, sow the spirit of innovation and strengthen the literacy of the younger generation in the issue of green industry and sustainability.
AIGIS is a strategic program of the Ministry of Industry that integrates policy, technology, cross-sectoral collaboration and public participation to accelerate the transition of the green industry in Indonesia.
In addition, AIGIS is also a consolidation platform between the government, the business world, academics and the community to achieve the development of a global low-carbon competitive industry.
"AIGIS is a joint movement. Let's make this forum a starting point for change. In the hands of the younger generation, there is hope for the transformation of a fair, resilient and sustainable industry," he said.
In AIGIS 2025, the Ministry of Industry will initiate the formation of the Green Industry Service Company (GISCO).
The goal is to become an aggregator that bridges industrial needs with easy access to low-carbon technology and green funding.

GISCO is believed to be the driving force for domestic industrial decarbonization, especially for business actors who face investment constraints in the application of green technology.
"With GISCO, we will accelerate the transformation of the industry towards massive and effective decarbonization, especially for the manufacturing sector which is the backbone of the domestic industry," he concluded.
