Bank Mandiri affirms its commitment to supporting the strengthening of village and sub-district cooperatives through digitizing financial services and improving infrastructure. This commitment was realized in active participation in the national launch of the Red and White Village Cooperative (KDKMP) program which was held in Bentangan Village, Klaten, Central Java, Monday, July 21.
Meanwhile, this launch was also attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto and the ranks of Ministers from the Red and White Cabinet, representatives of Himbara management, and representatives of local governments. This program is a strategic initiative of the government to build 80,000 cooperatives throughout Indonesia as centers of economic and social services for rural communities.
For this reason, as part of Himbara, Bank Mandiri also plays an active role in assisting cooperatives designated as the launch point for KDKMP spread throughout Indonesia. In these cooperatives, Bank Mandiri has also prepared digital financial services such as Mandiri Agents and QRIS, as well as ensuring the readiness of service infrastructure physically.
"The cooperative digitization cannot be separated from the readiness of facilities and systems. We are here to ensure that cooperatives have modern service channels as well as a proper and professional place of business," said Bank Mandiri President Director Darmawan Junaidi in Klaten, Central Java, Monday (21/7).
In supporting the launch of the KDKMP, Bank Mandiri deployed teams from various business units to accelerate activation in the field. At a number of points such as the Malangjiwan KDKMP in Karanganyar and the Banyuanyar KKMP in Surakarta, for example, Bank Mandiri has completed the process of painting buildings, installing nameplates and branding, as well as installation of Gondola racks and storefronts as the main means of cooperatives.
In addition, strengthening the internet network is also carried out to support application-based digital financial services. This step is reinforced by the implementation of cooperative management training and financial literacy which has been rolling since the end of June 2025, involving thousands of cooperative administrators from various regions.
This hybrid training is part of an effort to accelerate the readiness of cooperative institutions throughout Indonesia. Bank Mandiri is also directly involved in verifying and validating the readiness of the established cooperative, in collaboration with the KDKMP Task Force, technical ministries, and local governments.

This synergy, Darmawan continued, ensures that all cooperatives involved have complete legality and operational readiness to carry out their functions as basic food outlets, LPG, financial services, and logistics.
"We fully support the launch of the Red and White Village Cooperative program as an effort by the government to strengthen the people's-based economy, especially in the region. Our role in this matter is focused on assisting cooperatives to be operationally ready, especially in providing digital financial services and improving basic facilities," said Darmawan.
With a comprehensive approach that includes digitalization, training, and infrastructure improvement, Bank Mandiri hopes that the Red and White cooperative can become the backbone of sustainable village economic growth. This long-term commitment is in line with the government's goal to strengthen the people's economy through the development of professional and ecosystem-based institutions.
