Prabowo Ensures That By The End Of 2025 All Indonesian Children Can Eat Free Nutrition

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto promised the end of 2025, the distribution of Free Nutrition Food (MBG) will touch all beneficiaries throughout Indonesia who are targeted at 82.9 million people.

He conveyed this assurance when giving a speech at the Launch of 80,000 Red and White Village Cooperatives, which was broadcast online on Monday, July 21.

"But God willing, by the end of this year, all Indonesian children can eat nutritiously," said Prabowo.

This promise began when he learned that there were still people, especially school children who had not received the benefits of the national nutrition fulfillment program.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I came from Solo here, the people on the side of the road, they shouted, 'Sir, we haven't received a free nutritious meal. Sir, when? I saw their spies. These are Indonesian people. I can't bear it," said Prabowo.

The President admitted that the MBG program has only reached a small part of the total population in Indonesia. "Just today, 6.7 million can eat nutritiously," he said.

This is due to regulatory factors and technical procedures that must be obeyed by the government. "We can't give it faster because there are regulations, there are provisions and so on," said Prabowo.

Target 24 Million Beneficiaries Of MBG On RI's Anniversary

Previously, the Special Staff of the Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) for Communication, Redy Hendra Gunawan, said that on August 17, 2025, or to coincide with the 80th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (RI), the distribution of the MBG program could already target 24 million beneficiaries.

"According to the president's direction, on August 17, the National Nutrition Agency will be able to serve beneficiaries of at least 24 million beneficiaries," he said when giving a weekly update statement which was broadcast online, quoted on Sunday, July 20.

This achievement is supported by the presence of 30,000 candidates for the Head of the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) who have finished undergoing training and education which will strengthen the implementation of programs in the field.

In addition, to date, as many as 20,000 potential partners have registered to join the MBG program ecosystem. Of these, 10,957 partners are undergoing the verification process by the BGN team.

Redy stated that 10,957 SPPG heads would be deployed immediately to oversee the verification process and other technical preparations in the field. This step is an important part in accelerating the operationalization of SPPG nationally.
