JAKARTA - Financial Market Observer and Commodity Ariston Tjendra said that the movement of the rupiah has the potential to weaken against the United States (US) dollar on Monday, July 14.

Ariston said that the movement of the rupiah exchange rate was still maintained above the range of Rp. 16,150 today and still has the opportunity to weaken against the US dollar.

"The negative effect of the execution of Trump's tariff increase still overshadows the financial market," he told VOI, Monday, July 14.

According to him, the news about the postponement of the imposition of tariff increases to Indonesia may not have too much positive effect because the US will definitely increase the tariff for Indonesia, which may be a smaller number.

He conveyed that the movement of the rupiah on Monday, July 14 has the potential to weaken to the level of Rp. 16,250 per US dollar - Rp. 16,280 per US dollar.
