Bahlil Calls Only Prayers Can Save World Oil Prices Due To Conflict

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia said the potential for an increase in world oil prices due to the escalation of conflicts between countries in the Middle East could be anticipated through endeavors and prayers. According to him, Indonesia cannot hope in other countries because almost all countries are prioritizing their own interests.

"Because only our prayers and efforts are internally, which can save us. We cannot hope for other countries, in conditions like this. Why? Almost all countries also think about their countries," he said, quoted on Wednesday, June 25.

The chairman of the Golkar Party said that fluctuations in oil prices have indeed caught the attention of the government as the conflict between Israel and Iran heats up. Bahlil is also actively communicating with the relevant ministries amid the turmoil in oil prices.

On the other hand, Bahlil said that the oil price when it had not reached 75 US dollars per barrel, while the assumption of oil prices in the state revenue and expenditure budget (APBN) was set at 82 US dollars per barrel.

"This means that the state budget is actually good. But if it's above 82 US dollars per barrel, there must be new calculations," said Bahlil.
