Reach Target! 80,002 Red And White Kopdes Has Been Formed

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Cooperatives reported that President Prabowo Subianto's instructions to form 80,000 units of the Red and White Village Cooperatives (Kopdes/Kel) were finally achieved. As of June 16, 2025 at 17.30 WIB as many as 80,002 units of Kopdes/Gel Merah Putih have been successfully formed and established.

Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Budi Arie Setiadi, emphasized that this achievement was a form of success from joint work between Ministries/Institutions (K/L) and local governments (Pemda). The strong synergy and collaboration between stakeholders is able to answer public doubts about the existence of the Kopdes/Gel Merah Putih.

This effort is in line with Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 9 of 2025 and Presidential Decree Number 9 of 2025 concerning the establishment of the Task Force for the Acceleration of the Establishment of the Red and White Kopdes/Kel which is the legal basis for accelerating this program.

"We are grateful that finally the target for the formation of the Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih can be achieved. I think this is proof that fear, suspicion and doubt of this program have been broken," said Coordinating Minister Budi Arie in a statement quoted on Tuesday, June 17.

In an effort to ensure that the operational side of Kopdes / Kel Merah Putih will meet expectations, the government has and will prepare strong policies, measurable risk mitigation and the implementation of cooperative digitization. This is needed so that this program is not only successful in the number of quantities, but also qualified in implementation so that it is in accordance with program targets.

A strong policy design and risk mitigation must be prepared. Digitization is also important so that the Red and White Kopdes/Kel are able to adapt to the times," he said.

After the formation of the Red and White Kopdes / Kel is completed, the next effort that will be accelerated is the process of legalizing the cooperative legal entity to the Ministry of Law with the target of completion by the end of June 2025. Furthermore, simultaneous inauguration will be carried out on July 12, 2025, coinciding with the commemoration of National Cooperative Day.

"This success also shows that a collaborative approach is the main key in solving the challenges of complex and multidimensional village development," said Budi Arie.

The formation of cooperatives in every village and sub-district, the village economic ecosystem is believed to be more resilient, independent, and inclusive. The government is determined to create cooperatives that are not only formality, but also really productive and beneficial for residents.

In the long term, this program will also be directed to expand market access for village products, strengthen logistics distribution, and create new community-based jobs.

The government is committed to continuing to monitor and evaluate the running of the Kopdes/Kel Merah Putih so that the benefits are actually felt by the community, not just the target numbers.

Budi Arie ensured that each cooperative would be accompanied systematically by companions and coaches who had been prepared within the framework of the Task Force, to ensure the continuity of the program.

"Supervision of the operational implementation of this cooperative will also be carried out jointly with members so that the aspect of cooperative transparency can be carried out," said Budi.
