Sri Mulyani Calls Indo Defense Expo And Forum For Tougher Defense

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati stated that the Indo Defense Expo & Forum 2025 activity encourages a more modern and resilient defense system.

After attending the opening of the Indo Defense Expo & Forum 2025, the Minister of Finance said that this event provides an important opportunity to develop research and technology in the defense sector. The event also aims to strengthen international cooperation in the field of defense and technology.

"This event is an important moment to encourage collaboration and create a more modern and resilient defense system," Sri Mulyani said quoting Antara.

The Minister of Finance invited all parties to support the development of the defense sector for a safer and sovereign Indonesia.

Previously, President Prabowo Subianto gave a speech during the opening ceremony of Indo Defense as well as officially opening the annual defense exhibition in Indonesia.

The President reminded that defense is a guarantee of the independence and welfare of a nation so that the state must invest in strengthening its defense to maintain sovereignty.

Our own history has taught us that hundreds of years, our country is occupied by other nations, occupied, and our people, our society, our culture, our politics destroyed, and we become the property of another nation, our wealth is taken, "said Prabowo.

Therefore, investment in the defense sector has become a necessity.

"Human history teaches that a nation that does not want to invest in its own defense, usually its sovereignty is seized, usually its independence is seized, usually the nation becomes a slave nation. This is a historical teaching," said the President.

Prabowo, on the same occasion, also emphasized that Indonesia is determined to build its defense sector.

Our defense budget post is aimed at forming a strong territorial defense. We know we are not as strong as world superpowers, and therefore, the Government of Indonesia, and my government policy is non-block, neutral," Prabowo said.
