HK Records 459,273 Crossing Vehicles On The Trans Sumatra Toll Road As Of June 1, 2025

PT Hutama Karya (HK) recorded that the volume of vehicles passing on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) during the ascension of Jesus Christ and the Birthday of Pancasila reached 459,273 vehicles.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary HK Adjib Al Hakim said the total traffic volume was calculated from May 28 to June 1, 2025.

"The traffic volume on the Trans Sumatra Toll Road section in that period reached 459,273 vehicles," said Adib Al Hakim as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 4.

Of the total, he said, as many as 420,226 vehicles passed on the operating toll road, which increased by 8.19 percent from the normal period.

Meanwhile, as many as 39,047 vehicles passed on the Padang-Sicincin Toll Road which had just been operated without tariffs, showing the enthusiasm of high toll users.

"The vehicle traffic peak occurred on Wednesday (28/5) with 88,599 vehicles outside the Padang-Sicincin toll road, an increase of 20.53 percent compared to normal traffic volume," he said again.

He said the increase in traffic was influenced by the start of school holidays and companies that implemented collective leave, so people took advantage of this moment to travel.

"Conducive weather conditions support public interest in utilizing toll roads as access to destination tourism," he said.

He explained that the Pekanbaru-Dumai Toll Road became the highest traffic toll road by recording 72,404 vehicles during a long weekend.

Meanwhile, he said again, the Pekanbaru-XIII Koto Kampar Toll Road recorded the highest percentage growth of 28.64 percent compared to normal traffic.

"The Pekanbaru-XIII Koto Kampar Toll Road is now one of the favorite choices, because it cut the travel time significantly from Pekanbaru to West Sumatra and provides more comfort than arterial routes," he also said.

In optimizing preparations, Adjib said the company implemented a comprehensive strategy to deal with a surge in traffic.

Anticipatory steps implemented, he said, include the operational readiness of all toll roads for 24 hours in a week (24/7), improving services in rest areas, increasing the availability of standby officers, intensive coordination with related agencies.

Then, the delivery of traffic information in real-time via Variable Message Sign (VMS) is installed at various strategic points, to regular informative publications.

"The strategy and improvement of the services implemented have proven effective, so that toll road operations during the long holiday period run smoothly, safely, and under control despite the surge in traffic," he said again.
