Support Farmer Productivity, Bulog Ready To Buy Rice Harvested IDR 6,500 Per Kg

JAKARTA - Perum Bulog is committed to continuing to support the productivity and welfare of farmers. One of them is by absorbing rice harvested by farmers at IDR 6,500 per kilogram (kg) according to the predetermined government purchase price (HPP).

"We are optimistic that the commitment of all parties, productivity and welfare of farmers will continue to increase, which in turn will encourage national food security in a sustainable manner," said Bulog Business Director Febby Novita in an official statement, Tuesday, June 3.

Furthermore, Febby also said that Bulog is committed to carrying out government assignments as offtakers for farmers' harvests. He said the harvest of farmers in Mojokerto had also been absorbed from the previous planting period.

"We are happy to hear directly that farmers in Bicak Village have experienced the presence of Bulog firsthand. Even before this planting period began, Bulog through the Mojokerto Branch Office had optimally absorbed the grain from the harvest of Bicak Village farmers during the previous planting period. This is clear evidence of the synergy that has been well established," said Febby.

Until now, continued Febby, the absorption of grain and rice by Perum Bulog in East Java has reached more than 500,000 tons, with contributions from Bicak Village of 122 tons and Trowulan District of 768 tons.

"This achievement is an important part in strengthening the National Government Rice Reserve (CBP) stock," he said.

After the activity in Mojokerto, the group continued their visit to the Rice to Rice (RTR) and Perum BULOG Center in Banjar Kemantren, Sidoarjo Regency.

Febby explained that the rice processing process in RTR ranged from rice intake, milling processes, to packaging. The presence of RTR is a clear proof of modernization in the agricultural world.
