JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo said a number of private business entities were arrested or deterred from being involved in the Government's Cooperation with Business Entity (PPP) project.

This was conveyed by Dody in his remarks at the opening of the CreatIFF 2025 event at the Auditorium of the Ministry of Public Works, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 3.

"Earlier, the Deputy Chairperson of Kadin had whispered to me that the private sector was a bit tired of playing KPBU. So, maybe that's something we can discuss," said Dody.

Dody assessed that this needs to be discussed because the private sector plays an important role in infrastructure development in the country.

"So, what we can support so that then there is no (flavor) giving up. Because without our private friends in very limited fiscal conditions, we also can't be too optimal," he said.

On that occasion, Dody explained, KPBU itself succeeded in contributing to the fulfillment of infrastructure budget needs throughout 2020-2024 amounting to Rp440 trillion or equivalent to 21.4 percent of the total needs of Rp2,058 trillion.

Meanwhile, in 2025-2029, the projected infrastructure investment needs will reach IDR 1,905 trillion.

With fiscal limitations, it is estimated that there is still a funding gap of up to Rp753 trillion.
