Minister Of Public Works Approval Of BUJT Kasih 20 Percent Toll Rates Discount, Valid For 10 Days

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo ensured that a number of Toll Road Business Entities (BUJT) would provide a toll rate discount of 20 percent, as part of the government's provision of stimulus packages.

Dody said that later the toll tariff discount would last for 10 days, especially during the school holidays and welcoming the long Eid al-Adha 2025 holiday set by the government to fall on Friday, June 6.

"I (accept) discounted toll rates. (BUJT) is okay to provide 20 percent (discount) for a total of 10 days," said Dody in response to VOI's question when met at the PU Ministry office, Tuesday, June 3.

According to Dody, the provision of toll tariff discounts is a common thing that BUJTs do, such as during the Lebaran or Christmas holidays.

However, he does not deny that BUJT in providing discounts on toll rates must obtain approval from shareholders. Given, there are a number of BUJTs that are open companies aka Tbk.

"If the discount is the toll rate, right, it's actually BUJT's kindness. The discussion is a bit tough because for example some (BUJT), right, it's already Tbk. So, they need approval from their shareholders, especially Tbk," said Dody.

"But (BUJT) is okay," he continued.

Previously, the government officially disbursed an economic stimulus package worth IDR 24.44 trillion to maintain people's purchasing power and stabilize the economy during the school holidays which took place from June to July 2025.

The stimulus packages consist of providing discounted transportation rates, discounted toll rates, thickening social assistance and providing food assistance, wage subsidy assistance and an extension of work accident insurance contributions (JKK) discounts.

Overall, the value of the stimulus package reached Rp. 24.44 trillion. In detail, Rp. 23.59 trillion comes from the state budget and Rp. 0.85 trillion from non-APBN.

The stimulus is also equipped with a disbursement of the 13th salary this June of IDR 49.3 trillion for ASN, TNI, Polri and retirees.
