The Ministry Of Public Works Targets Renovation Of 100 People's Schools To Be Completed In July 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) targets the renovation of the Phase I People's School to be completed in July 2025.

The handling is divided into two, namely Phase I and Phase I-B with mild to moderate level non-structural renovation work in 100 People's Schools spread over 63 locations.

The renovation work includes repairing walls, floors, ceilings, providing clean water and sanitation to providing furniture with physical progress until May 29, 2025, reaching 11.48 percent.

"Phase I or Phase I-B are temporary in several places, because they do not accommodate all of them for elementary, junior high or high school, depending on the needs of the local government," said PU Minister Dody Hanggodo as quoted from his written statement, Saturday, May 31.

The distribution of the location for the renovation of the Phase I People's School, namely Aceh (2); North Sumatra (3); Riau (1); West Sumatra (3); Jambi (1); Bengkulu (1); South Sumatra (2); Jakarta (3); West Java (10); Central Java (7); DIY (2); East Java (12); Bali (1); NTB (1); NTT (1); South Kalimantan (2); North Sulawesi (2); Central Sulawesi (1); South Sulawesi (4); Southeast Sulawesi (1); North Maluku (2); and Papua (1).

Meanwhile, in phase II, a new People's School will be built with a completion target in July 2026.

"We have verified 224 proposed locations for Phase II, 37 of which have been approved, 69 have not been approved, among others, because the land certificate is not complete and 116 is not approved because the land is not in accordance with the provisions," said Dody.

It is known that the handling of Phase I and II People's School infrastructure comes from the 2025 State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) worth IDR 10 trillion.
