JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto's administration made a new history in national food management by producing 4 million tons of reserve rice as the highest achievement since Perum Bulog was founded in 1969.
Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman said this achievement was celebrated as an important milestone towards Indonesia's food independence.
"Alhamdulillah, today's history has only been inscribed. For the first time since Bulog was founded in 1969, government rice reserves have officially crossed the 4 million tonnes," he said, quoting Antara.

Under President Prabowo's direction, Amran said, the strategy to strengthen national production and optimize local absorption has proven to be effective in maintaining food stability and boosting the welfare of farmers.
"Now, farmers are not only harvesting more, but also enjoying the profitable selling price of grain," said Amran.
He also expressed his gratitude to various parties ranging from farmers, Commission IV DPR RI, TNI, Polri, Attorney General's Office, regional heads, extension workers, milling, to academics and the media who contributed.

Bulog noted that on Thursday (29/5) night, the total national rice stock had reached 4,001,059 tons, with local rice absorption of 2,407,257 tons.

With this achievement, said Amran, Indonesia places itself on a strong path in realizing sustainable food security.
"The policy initiated by President Prabowo in the agricultural sector has begun to show tangible results, not only strengthening national reserves, but also restoring farmers' confidence in the country," he said.
