JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia announced the Electric Power Supply Business Plan (RUPTL) of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) 20252034 on May 26, 2025.
Overall, said Bahlil, the government is targeting to increase the power plant capacity by 69.5 GW by 2034.
Of this total, about 76 percent of capacity will come from New Renewable Energy (EBT) and energy storage systems such as batteries and pumped storage.
In the first five years, a 27.9 GW power plant will be built consisting of 9.2 gas-based GW, 12.2 GW from EBT, 3 GW for storage systems, and 3.5 GW coal plants that are already in the construction stage.
