Sri Mulyani Is Silent In A Thousand Languages When Asked About The Substitution Of The Director General Of Taxes And Excise At The Ministry Of Finance

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati was reluctant to comment on the issue of massive rotation within the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu), especially regarding strategic positions such as the Director General of Taxes and the Director General of Customs and Excise.

When met after attending the 18th Plenary Meeting of the DPR RI Session III Period, Sri Mulyani chose not to answer the media crew's questions regarding the news of the change of the two important positions and chose to leave the media crew when asked about the news.

On the other hand, Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara also did not provide direct confirmation and only emphasized that official information would be submitted at the right time.

"It must be announced, (when) it is announced. It will be announced later," he said.

Based on information circulating that the position of Director General of Customs and Excise currently held by Askolani will be filled by Lieutenant General (Letjen) TNI Djaka Utama, who is now the Main Secretary of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN).

Meanwhile, the position of Director General of Taxes currently occupied by Suryo Utomo is rumored to be replaced by Bimo Wijayanto, a former Main Expert at Deputy II of the Presidential Staff Office.

Bimo previously also served as Assistant Deputy for Strategic Investment at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

When confirmed about these names, Suahasil reiterated that everything will be announced in due course.

"It will be announced later," he said.

Meanwhile, Director General of Taxes Suryo Utomo when met at the DPR RI, chose not to comment and said that everything would be announced later.

"I'm not commenting, isn't it. It will be announced later," he explained.
