JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo fully supports the infrastructure development of the People's School in Kuningan Regency, West Java.
"The Ministry of Public Works is ready to support the development of educational facilities and infrastructure in the regions, including for the People's School program in Kuningan Regency. This is in line with the central government's commitment to improving access and quality of education throughout Indonesia," said Dody as quoted from his written statement, Friday, May 16.
This support was conveyed directly at a meeting with the Regent of Kuningan Dian Rachmat Yanuar in Jakarta, Thursday, May 15.
Dody encouraged the Kuningan Regency Government (Pemkab) to immediately submit a proposal for the People's School program and prepare the land needed for its implementation.
The People's School Program is an educational initiative that aims to provide inclusive and quality learning access, especially for areas that are less affordable for formal education services.
The PU Ministry's support for the People's School program is a direct implementation of President Prabowo Subianto's vision in Astacita, which places the education sector as one of the main pillars to achieve Indonesia Gold 2045.
In addition to the People's School Program, Dody also responded to priority proposals from the Regent of Kuningan regarding irrigation infrastructure and connectivity in supporting agriculture in the area.
"God willing, we support irrigation because there is already a Presidential Instruction (Inpres). As far as we know, Kuningan is also one of the food barns in West Java. Meanwhile, the road is still waiting for the Inpres Infrastructure, which is currently being discussed by the Ministry of State Secretariat," he said.
Meanwhile, Kuningan Regent Dian Rachmat Yanuar welcomed the support from the Ministry of Public Works in the People's School Program and stated the readiness of local governments to provide the necessary land.

In addition, he also proposed repairing agricultural and road irrigation.
"Kuningan is an area based on agriculture and tourism, if irrigation is good and the road is good, God willing, it will help our APBD income," he concluded.
