PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA) held a joint patrol and took action against mining activities without a permit (PETI) in the Central Banko IUP Block B area, Lengi area, Pengyandingan Village, Tanjung Agung District, Muara Enim Regency.
PTBA's Director of Operations and Production, Suhedi, said the patrols, which were carried out on Thursday, May 8, 2025, were routine patrol activities involving a joint team from various related divisions in PTBA such as the Mining Division, Legal & Regulatory Affairs Division, and the Operational Services Division, as well as support from the Pamobvit of the South Sumatra Police, Pamobvit of the Muara Enim Police, TNI, and the Forest Protection Patrol Team.
"Based on air monitoring using drones, the team found illegal mining activities ongoing," he said, Wednesday, May 14.
Suhedi continued, the team immediately moved to the location and managed to secure four perpetrators consisting of three dump trucks drivers and one excavator operator who had tried to escape. In addition, the team also secured a number of evidences including one excavator unit, three dump trucks ankles, one motorcycle, and nine fuel jerry cans, and other supporting evidence at the location.
All perpetrators and evidence were then handed over to the Muara Enim Police Criminal Investigation Unit for further legal proceedings. PTBA employees and security personnel involved in the prosecution have also provided an official statement as witnesses in the Investigation Report (BAP).
"We will not tolerate any form of illegal activity in our working area. This action is clear evidence of the synergy between PTBA and law enforcement officials in maintaining clean, legal, and sustainable mining governance," said Suhedi.
