Head Of BGN Ensures MBG Program Is Free From Toxic Cases

JAKARTA - Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, ensured that the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program was free from poisoning cases.

He said this after attending a meeting with BGN and all the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) led by President Prabowo Subianto in Bogor, West Java, Saturday, May 3.

"God willing, hopefully, all of the officials and employees of the Nutrition Agency will be enthusiastic, more patriotic so that we can work harder and also work faster, more carefully. Our target is zero accidents, there are no incidents of poisoning in the field," he said, quoted from the Presidential Secretariat Youtube channel.

According to Dadan, related to the poisoning case that occurred to students after eating the MBG menu, the entire BGN team and officers in the field were committed to being more careful.

This is because the MBG program is very risky for unwanted things to happen.

He also emphasized that the safety and health of beneficiaries is a top priority.

Meanwhile, until now, the Free Nutrition Food program has reached 3.3 million beneficiaries.

In August, it is targeted to target 6 million people who will receive benefits.

Regarding the plans and targets to be achieved, BGN strives to make it until mid-May, the MBG program can reach more than 4 million beneficiaries.

"So far, according to the target, because actually our target was until April we served 3 million. Now, Alhamdulillah, it has been achieved, later from May to August we will serve 6 million. And we are pursuing it, so later we hope that by the end of May or early June the beneficiaries will reach 6 million, "concluded Dadan.

The case of poisoning is thought to be due to the recent consumption of the MBG menu. A number of school students in West Java experienced this.

Most recently, it happened in Bandung and Tasikmalaya, where the victims reached hundreds of students.

Not only on the island of Java, similar incidents also occurred in Southeast Sulawesi, precisely in Bombana Regency.

The BGN team immediately moved quickly to conduct tests at the local laboratory, and was responsible for providing medical treatment to students who were poisoned. In addition, the kitchen food processors who are members of the SPPG also received additional training.
