Bulog Reports The Realization Of Rice Absorption Reaches 1.7 Million Tons

JAKARTA - The Public Company of the Logistics Affairs Agency (Perum Bulog) reported that the realization of domestic rice absorption was looking for 1.7 million tons of rice equivalent. This figure is equivalent to 57 percent of the target set by the government of 3 million tons.

"Alhamdulillah, we have absorbed 1.7 million tons of rice equivalent. So until now we have approximately 57.09 percent of it, yes," said President Director of Perum Bulog, Novi Helmy Prasetya in a hearing (RDP) with Commission VI DPR RI, Tuesday, April 29.

Novi said that of the total absorption, as much as 2 million tons were in the form of harvested dry grain (GKP), while the sides were in the form of rice.

"This means that our absorption is indeed in favor of the farmers. So that the realization has been achieved so far, the absorption of rice is 82.67 percent. Then the rice is 33.83 percent," he said.

Quoting the material presented by Novi, Bulog absorbs as much as 176,148 tons of rice equivalent in 2020. Then it will increase in 2021 to 572,889 tons of rice equivalent. Then, it will decrease to 265,290 tons in 2022.

In 2023, Bulog's absorption will increase again but thin to 296,300 tons. Then, absorption fell again to 249,976 tons in 2024. Then in 2025, the Bulog meeting rose sharply to 1.7 million tons of rice equivalent.

"This is an absorption of unhulled rice throughout 1967 Bulog was established and this is something (an increase) that is very massive," he said.
