JAKARTA - In order to increase financial literacy and the role of women in the Indonesian Islamic capital market, the Self Regulatory Organization (SRO) consisting of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX), PT Kliring Penjaminan Efek Indonesia (KPEI), PT Kustodian Sentral Efek Indonesia (KSEI), and supported by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), held the HERSHARE 2025 event with the theme Brain, Beauty, Wealth in Makassar, South Sulawesi.
This event also became one of the 10 priority targets for financial literacy activities based on the 2021-2025 Indonesian Financial Literacy National Strategy (SNLKI) issued by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), which places women and housewives as one of the ten priority targets for financial literacy and strengthening roles, especially in the Indonesian Islamic capital market.
The HERSHARE 2025 implementation is also in line with the agenda of the Regional Financial Access Acceleration Team (TPAKD), which is the OJK agenda and the Regional Government which this year carries the Capital Market theme.
Meanwhile, the attention to women's sharia investors cannot be separated from their presence and participation in the Indonesian capital market industry.
Based on data from C-BEST and S-Invest KSEI as of April 22, 2025, the total number of capital market investors reached 16,021,179 investors and more than 37 percent were female investors whose total assets reached more than IDR 500 trillion or more than 30 percent of total capital market investor assets.
However, the level of the women's financial literacy and inclusion index related to the capital market is still lower, when compared to the results of the National Literacy and Financial Inclusion Survey (SNLIK) issued by the OJK in 2024.
Meanwhile, in terms of gender, the women's composite financial literacy index is 66.75 percent higher than men 64.14 percent and the women's composite financial inclusion index is also 76.08 percent higher than men by 73.97 percent.
The HERSHARE 2025 activity was opened by IDX Development Director Jeffrey Hendrik and OJK Head of South Sulawesi and West Sulawesi Province Mochamad Muchlasin. The Governor of South Sulawesi, represented by the Assistant for the Economy and Development of the South Sulawesi Provincial Secretariat, Ichsan Mustari, was also present to provide a keynote speech.
