Menkop: Need Capital IDR 400 Trillion To Build 80,000 Red And White Kopdes

Minister of Cooperatives (Menkop) Budi Arie said the construction of 80.000 Red and White Village Cooperatives (Kopdes) needed funds of at least IDR 400 trillion.

Furthermore, Budi said the construction of a unit of the Red and White Kopdes needed funds of at least Rp. 5 billion.

"Yes, for example, 80,000, Rp5 billion times Rp400 trillion," he said at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Office, Jakarta, Thursday, April 10.

Regarding the cooperative financing, Budi Arie said that it would be fully submitted to the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and SOE Minister Erick Thohir.

"It's been discussed, the figure is around Rp. 5 billion per Kopdes. Later the scheme will be business, right, I've already said that asking the figures like this, you have to ask the Minister of Finance and the Minister of SOEs," he said.

Budi said the construction of the Red and White Kopdes was a follow-up to the issuance of Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 9 of 2025 concerning the Acceleration of the Establishment of Red and White Village Cooperatives and the Draft Decision of the Presidential Task Force for the Establishment of Cooperatives in Red and White Villages.

Furthermore, Budi said that the establishment of the Red and White Village Cooperative (Kopdes) is planned to be completed by the end of June 2025 administratively. Later, physical development will be carried out in stages.

"By the end of June, the formation must have been completed. The formation means that the institution, not yet a building or physical one. So the target at the end of June as soon as possible, all 80,000 red and white Kopdes formations have been formed throughout Indonesia," said Budi Arie.

Budi realized that the formation of the Red and White Kopdes was faced with various serious challenges such as various economic scales in villages, capacities and human resources (HR) in villages that varied to potential dominance of individuals or groups in the management of cooperatives.

Therefore, Budi hopes that the support and cooperation between stakeholders, namely the relevant Ministries/Institutions (K/L), will ensure that all these challenges are faced with the right solution.

"It is hoped that K/L can continue to strengthen collaboration so that the launching target of the Red and White Kopdes on July 12, 2025 can be carried out properly," he said.
