PT PLN (Persero) recorded that the number of transactions at public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) in the Lebaran 2025 period increased to 4.9 times compared to 2024.

In line with the increase in transactions, electricity consumption (kWh) at SPKLU in the Lebaran 2025 period also increased by 5.8 times compared to 2024.

In detail, charging transactions at SPKLU during the Eid al-Fitr 2025 to April 8, 2025 were 80,970 transactions, an increase of 4.9 times from 16,513 transactions in Eid al-Fitr 2024.

Meanwhile, electricity consumption at SPKLU was recorded at 1,950 megawatt hour (MWh) in Eid al-Fitr 2025, an increase of 5.8 times from consumption of 334 MWh in 2024.

Darmawan said that PLN continues to take strategic steps in providing infrastructure that supports the acceleration of the electric vehicle ecosystem in Indonesia.

The provision of SPKLU is one of the main focuses that PLN pays attention to in this year's Eid celebration. Moreover, the interest in the use of electric vehicles is increasing.

Especially on the homecoming route with high occupancys such as Trans Sumatra-Java, PLN presents 1,000 SPKLU units in 615 locations, this number has increased significantly to 7.5 times compared to the previous year's Eid al-Fitr period.

The average distance between SPKLUs on this route is compacted to about 22 kilometers, providing more convenience for electric vehicle users.
