Bahlil Appreciates Electricity Infrastructure Readiness In Maluku During Eid

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Bahlil Lahadalia ensures that the condition of electricity infrastructure in the Maluku region remains prime during the Eid Al-Fitr 1446 Hijri holiday, both in terms of electricity supply and services for Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU).

"Overall, in terms of energy preparation during the Eid Al-Fitr 1446 H alert, everything is good, smooth, and safe. This also includes electricity supply, there is no problem. The need for electricity for electric vehicles is also met, because of the availability of sufficient SPKLU," Bahlil said as quoted on Tuesday, April 8.

Bahlil also appreciated PLN for showing optimal readiness in presenting reliable electricity during important moments such as Eid al-Fitr today.

"With the alert of 1,250 personnel at several points in Maluku and North Maluku, including providing sufficient electricity supply in terms of generation, this shows that there is a strong commitment from PLN to present reliable electricity during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr. So people do not need to worry and hesitate in celebrating the Eid Al-Fitr moment," said Bahlil.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo said that PLN had set a Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr standby period from March 17 to April 11, 2025.

This alert moment is supported by a qualified primary energy supply at the plant, including coal available for more than 22 operating days (HOP), gas of more than 30 HOPs, and fuel of more than 20 HOPs.

"I think this is a very sufficient preparation in terms of generation. We also apply monitoring _real-time_ to ensure sufficient and reliable electricity supply to meet the needs of the community during the Eid al-Fitr moment," said Darmawan.

In addition, PLN has also prepared electricity backups in the form of 1,839 generator units, 636 Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) and 1,276 Mobile Substation Units (UGBs) which are alerted in strategic locations throughout Indonesia. PLN has also deployed 69 thousand special standby personnel equipped with complete equipment and 3,830 standby posts spread throughout the country.

General Manager of PLN Main Unit for the North Maluku and Maluku Region (UIW MMU), Awat Tuhuloula explained that the condition of electricity in the Maluku and North Maluku regions was in a safe and controlled condition throughout the Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 2025 alert periods.

We have a capacity of 106 MegaWatts (MW) with a peak load of 57 MW, as well as a power reserve of 49 MW in the Ambon System. While the Ternate System, the peak load reaches 38 MW, while we have a capable capacity of 66 MW with reserves of 28 MW," explained Awat.

In addition to alerting 1,250 personnel in 203 posts spread across strategic points in Maluku and North Maluku, PLN has also deployed 20 officers with job certification in Voltage Conditions (PDKB).

Especially in the North Maluku and Maluku regions, PLN has attracted up to 5 times the SPKLU to 22 units spread across various locations to support electric vehicle users.

In each of these locations, PLN also provides officers who are on standby 24 hours to help travelers with a total of 132 personnel.

"Based on our latest data, the trend of electric vehicle travelers seems to have doubled compared to last year. This is also supported by SPKLU facilities spread across Maluku and North Maluku as many as 22 location points," concluded Awat.
