Bayer Encourages Sustainable Innovation For Future Indonesian Agriculture-Health

Yuchen Li was appointed as President Director of Bayer Indonesia as well as Country Commercial Lead Crop Science Indonesia and Malaysia.

Together with Sook Fun Leong served as the Country Division Head of Consumer Health Indonesia and Malaysia, and Riaz Buksh as the Country Division Head of Pharmaceuticals Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore (IMS) Cluster.

Yuchen Li, in her capacity as President Director of Bayer Indonesia, stated that as a global life science company in the fields of health and agriculture, Bayer believes in the important role of science in realizing the world for the better.

Joining Bayer since 2012, Li has previously held leadership positions in the territory of other countries, including China, Japan, and the United States.

In his role as Country Commercial Lead for Crop Science in Indonesia and Malaysia, Li added that agriculture is one of the key sectors in the Indonesian economy.

"We (Bayer) support the government's efforts to realize national food security by increasing farmers' knowledge of the latest agricultural technology, especially for small land farmers in Indonesia, so that productivity and income increase so that farmers and their families prosper," said Li.

In addition to providing access to appropriate and safe plant protection products, Bayer is also active in providing assistance to farmers in various regions through the Field Assistant in collaboration with local agricultural instructors.

Not only that, Bayer's support for Indonesian farmers is realized through innovation and sustainable initiatives.

One of them is the launch of biotechnology corn seeds DK95R in 2023.

By using DK95R biotechnology corn seeds, farmers get a potential increase in revenue of up to 30 percent compared to conventional practices.
