Danone's Collaboration With PBNU: Expansion Of Strategic Partnerships In The Fields Of Health, Social Welfare, And Economic Development

JAKARTA - Danone announced the development of cooperation with the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board in the fields of health, education, social and economics to encourage innovation, global competitiveness, and environmental sustainability efforts through the Indonesia - MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Expert Exchange.

This collaboration was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Christian Stammkoetter, President of Asia, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) Danone, and Dr. (HC) KH Yahya Cholil Staquf, Chairman of PBNU.

In addition, this activity was also attended by KH Amin Said Husni, Deputy Chairperson of PBNU, Alissa Wahid, Chairman of PBNU and the leadership of Danone Indonesia, as well as leaders of Danone Indonesia, Laurent Boussier, President Director of Danone Indonesia, and Vera Galuh Sugijanto, VP General Secretary Danone Indonesia were also present at the signing ceremony which took place at the PBNU Office, Kramat, Jakarta.

Starting from the common vision, Danone established a strategic partnership with PBNU to support environmental sustainability and human resource development in health and economic welfare. This investment is in line with Danone's global commitment to have a positive impact on health, economy and sustainability through local brands in various countries.

Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU, Dr. (HC) KH Yahya Cholil Staquf (Gus Yahya), in his direction he conveyed, PBNU has signed an MoU with Danone. NU has a wide reach in the Indonesian people. Thus, NU has the instrument, capacity to create impact, a broad impact in the midst of society.

"This capacity is offered by NU to any party who wants to cooperate with NU, both the government, and non-government, other business circles and NGOs in various programs. We welcome Danone with open arms with various agendas, especially in halal certification. We have the instruments, as well as various other kinds of economic and social welfare programs developed by Danone. The NU instrument is very ready to welcome it all with consolidated operations," he said, in a written statement, Sunday, March 23.

Christian Stammkoetter, President of Asia, Middle East, and Africa (AMEA) Danone, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from PBNU.

"We are proud and honored to be able to develop cooperation with PBNU in the fields of Health, Education, Social and Economics through the Indonesia - MENA Expert Program program. This partnership is an important step in our efforts to make a real contribution to society. We believe we can move together to encourage the progress and welfare of Indonesia," he explained.

The Indonesia-MENA Expert Exchange program is a two-way global exchange program designed to promote mutual understanding, improve leadership and professional skills, and build sustainable partnerships between young leaders from Indonesia and Middle Eastern countries such as Egypt and Turkey.
