JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) cooperates in supporting the Free Nutrition Food (MBG) program. Through this collaboration, the Ministry of Public Works will carry out planning the construction of a Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) which acts as a public kitchen that produces and distributes nutritious food to the community, especially school children, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and toddlers.

"This agreement and agreement is also the full commitment of the Ministry of Public Works to help create a supporting ecosystem for the implementation of the MBG program in various regions," said Minister of Public Works, Dody Hanggodo in his remarks, Saturday, March 22.

He added that the SPPG Kitchen will be built permanently on land owned by the Ministry of Public Works with a land area of 900m2 which will include a kitchen building covering an area of 300 m2 and a vehicle parking lot. The size of the kitchen design will be adjusted to the standards set by BGN. Then the main support of the Ministry of Public Works is clean water, sanitation, IPAL, bore wells, including kitchen utensils.

Dody added that currently there are 41 lands belonging to the Ministry of Public Works which are used as Men's Education Foundation Schools spread throughout Indonesia.

"After a survey was conducted by Balai PU, 9 locations were selected that were included in the criteria for the construction of the SPPG kitchen, namely in Aceh, Jambi, West Sumatra, Central Java, West Java, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and South Sulawesi," he continued.

For the initial stage, continued Dody, his ministry has chosen three locations that will be built in the near future, namely in Kebumen Regency, Central Java; Banjar City, Central Java and Jambi City Jambi Province with funds sourced from the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) 3 BUMN Karya program.

"PT PP (Persero) Tbk will build SPPG in Banjar, PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk in Kebumen, and PT Hutama Karya (Persero) in Jambi, where the construction of one SPPG unit requires IDR 4.5 billion," said Dody.

Present on the same occasion, Head of the National Nutrition Agency, Dadan Hindayana, said that this collaboration was intended to accelerate the development of the SPPG infrastructure quickly because it had a crucial role in accelerating the fulfillment of the nutrition of beneficiaries nationally.

"Three keys to the MBG program are budget, human resources and infrastructure. We came to the Public Works regarding how to make the development of infrastructure development faster," said Dadan.

Dadan said, currently BGN already has at least 1,050 SPPGs with 100 percent of partners from Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.

"Alhamdulillah, in the meantime we already have 1,050 SPPGs (until) the end of this week, and that is a total of 100 percent contribution from the partnership," said Dadan.
