The Presence Of The Jabodebek LRT Boosts Property Prices Of Up To 45 Percent Around The Station

JAKARTA - The presence of the Jabodebek LRT in Indonesia, not only makes it easier for people to choose public transportation, but also has a significant increase in property prices of up to 45 percent around the station.

The Executive Vice President of the Jabodebek LRT, Mochamad Purnomosidi, said that the presence of the Jabodebek LRT has brought positive changes to the mobility of the community and the development of the surrounding area.

Purnomosidi said the price of land and property in the areas around the station, especially in areas with a radius of 0.1 to 1 km, had increased prices by up to 45 percent.

Meanwhile, continued Purnomosidi, for a distance of 2 to 3 km there was an increase in land and property prices by 35 to 40 percent.

"So this is quite interesting, quite a significant increase, almost half, almost 50 percent of the property prices around the LRT station," he said in a joint media discussion, at the Jabodebek Cawang LRT Station, Thursday, March 20.

In terms of cost efficiency, continued Purnomosidi, people who switch to the Jabodebek LRT also save up to Rp114.5 billion per year and reduce carbon emissions to Rp269 billion per year.

In addition to having an impact on fuel cost efficiency, the Jabodebek LRT is also claimed to reduce the potential loss due to private vehicle accidents of up to IDR 4.6 trillion per year.

The reduction in road vehicles also reduces infrastructure costs, saving IDR 19.1 billion per year in repair costs, "said Purnomodition.
