JAKARTA - Bank Indonesia has opened its voice regarding the many complaints from the public who admit that they have difficulty accessing BI's currency exchange application, Smart.
Deputy Governor of BI, Doni P. Joewono said the high demand for access by the public caused the Smart application to experience technical problems.
"So in IT people there is a DDoS. Distributed Dienial of Service. So someone entered the traffic to make our online services down," he said at a press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday, March 19.
Despite experiencing problems, Dony ensured that it was directly handled by the Bank Indonesia IT team so that it could be accessed again by people who wanted to exchange cash.
He explained that high traffic usually occurs on weekends or on Saturdays and Sundays. For this reason, his party will limit access to Smart lications on Saturday 22 for the Java and March 23 regions for areas outside Java.
"On weekdays, it's not high. Our estimates are on Saturdays, March 22 and March 23. March 22 in our smart division in Java," he continued.
