JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) said that as many as 24 Lebaran posts on the strategic routes of Central Java Province and the Special Region (DI) of Yogyakarta were ready to facilitate travelers.

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo conveyed this after conducting a review in Semarang, Central Java, Sunday, March 16.

Dody assessed that the establishment of the post was part of the government's commitment to overseeing the comfort and security of road users during the homecoming and homecoming season.

"We have placed 19 posts in Central Java and 5 posts in Yogyakarta. This post will become an integrated service center. Not only a place of rest, but also a place to get traffic information, alternative lane maps and emergency assistance if there are problems on the way," said Dody in a written statement, Monday, March 17.

Later, each post will be equipped with basic infrastructure such as first aid, toilets and rest areas.

There are also special officers who are alerted to provide light assistance related to vehicles.

He explained that his party had collaborated with the police, the Transportation Service and the local Public Works Office to ensure smooth flow at points that are often hit by congestion and prone to disasters.

In addition, Dody also appealed to the public to continue to monitor information, which according to data from the Central Java National Road Implementation Center (BBPJN) DI Yogyakarta, there were 43 congestion-prone points identified in Central Java, while 10 points were recorded in DI Yogyakarta.

"Posque officers will immediately coordinate with the police if there is a traffic spike in these locations. Steps such as contraflow or the implementation of alternative routes can be directly implemented according to the situation on the ground," he said.

Furthermore, Dody highlighted the importance of education for travelers to obey traffic signs.

The Eid posts, he said, would also support the dissemination of information related to safety.

"We hope that people who use the homecoming route do not hesitate to take advantage of the post. If you are tired, please take a break. If you need help, immediately contact the nearest post officer," explained Dody.

With the wide network of posts, the government is optimistic that the 2025 homecoming flow can be controlled.

Dody also reminded travelers to maintain physical and mental condition while driving and prioritize safety.

"My hope is that Lebaran 2025 will run smoothly. We from the Ministry of Public Works have made all the best possible preparations," he concluded.
